The grand finale of the 2026 Vuelta Ciclista a España takes place today, Sunday, September 13, in Granada. This is a historic milestone for the competition, as it is the first time the Spanish tour does not finish in Madrid (due to the Formula 1 Grand Prix taking place in the capital).
The red jersey already has a virtual champion: the Balearic rider Enric Mas (Movistar Team), who sealed the race during yesterday's queen stage at Collado del Alguacil, bringing glory back to Spain after 12 years. Primoz Roglic and Felix Gall will join him on the final podium.
The final stage features an afternoon schedule to make the most of the celebrations in the city center:
The final stage covers a distance of 112 kilometers. After an initial loop through towns in the metropolitan area (such as Armilla, Churriana, La Zubia, Gójar, and Otura), the peloton will enter the urban circuit of Granada city.
The biggest highlight is the three climbs up to the Alhambra. The urban circuit will pass through the Paseo del Salón (the finish straight) and head up the cobblestones of Cuesta Escoriaza, Cuesta del Caidero, and Antequeruela Baja with gradients reaching up to 10%, emulating the spectacular Montmartre circuit seen at the Paris Olympic Games.
