Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía premieres "Llanto por Ignacio Sánchez Mejías" for the Lorca and Granada 2012 series.
Antonio Canales collaborates in the show, which will be on the bill together with "Metáfora" at La Alhambra’s Generalife Gardens from July 18th to August 31st.
“At five in the afternoon”. That is the crucial verse in "Llanto por Ignacio Sánchez Mejías", the elegy which Federico García Lorca wrote in 1935 for his bullfighter friend, gored to death by the bull Granadino in Manzanares. And now that poem has become the inspiration for the new show by the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, the second one directed by Rubén Olmo. As a special collaborator for the occasion, Antonio Canales joins the lineup of the public Andalusian company, which includes young bailaores like Patricia Guerrero and Eduardo Leal. Together with the choreography "Metáfora", the show will be part of the double program offered by the Lorca y Granada 2012 Series from July 18th to August 31st at the auditorium of the Generalife Gardens, in the setting of La Alhambra.
