Daytrip to the Tropical Coast
Meeting point: Congress Palace
Guide: Juan
Price: 55,00 €
The Costa Tropical, located between the Costa del Sol and the Costa de Almería, occupies a privileged strip that has the best conditions and attractions to enjoy an excellent vacation.
Its Mediterranean location, its proximity to North Africa and the Sierra Nevada, with the highest heights on the Peninsula, protect this coastline from the cold northern winds. A subtropical microclimate, with 320 days of sunshine a year and an average temperature of around 20 °C, make it possible to grow tropical fruits in its lush meadows.
Cliffs, coves and extensive beaches make up the landscape of this coast coveted and conquered by numerous settlers, among others Phoenicians, Romans and Arabs, who competed for it and left traces of their cultures.
There are five tourist centers on the Costa Tropical: Almuñécar (La Herradura), Salobreña, Motril, Castell de Ferro and La Rábita. They are all equipped with good tourist infrastructure and are ideal for practicing numerous sports: windsurfing, surfing, diving, fishing, sailing, water skiing, golf, tennis, squash, horse riding, etc. Sierra Nevada, at 3,400 m. of altitude and only 40 km from the coast, it is the paradise of alpine skiing or mountaineering.
We will also find everything from marinas and places to practice a multitude of nautical sports, to cliffs of great beauty and solitary and natural coves, without forgetting some magnificent beaches.
