A tapa is a type of appetizer which is served when you order a drink. Serving tapas to customers is a typical Spanish tradition preserved through the whole of Spain. In some cities, such as Granada, the tapas are free. They can vary from just a few peanuts or a small dish of olives, to almost a mini meal in itself. One of the most enjoyable pleasures of the Spanish culture, is to go out with your friends for tapas. You usually only stay in each tapas bar for one or two drinks, so that you can go to a series of different bars in one evening. In some tapas bars you can choose your tapa, whereas in others, there is a set list of tapas that you get according to the type which is being served.

The 39th edition of the Goya Awards will be held on 8 February 2025 at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos in Granada. This was announced on Wednesday by the president of the Film Academy, Fernando Méndez-Leite, and the mayoress of the city, Marifrán Carazo, who were also accompanied by the vice-president of the institution, Rafael Portela, and the city's councillors for Culture and the Presidency, Juan Ramón Ferreira and Jorge Saavedra.
‘It is very exciting to start with a new edition of the Goya Awards in a city as emblematic and unique as Granada, which will surely be enthusiastic about our gala with the excitement of the first times,’ said the president of the Academy, who thanked the mayoress and the city “for their firm commitment” to host the Goya 2025 ceremony. ‘Our films and those who make them possible will be the protagonists of a selection of events -exhibitions, screenings of nominated films, meetings, educational activities...- that will be held here during the more than 10 months that separate us from what will be our big night’, stressed Méndez-Leite.

The Alpujarra is one of the most picturesque regions in the province of Granada situated in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada National Park.
The difficult access to this mountainous area has, until recently, contributed to the region's preservation of such scenic landscapes and architecture.

Last weekend we held our annual TANDEM LANGUAGE SCHOOLS meeting in beautiful San Sebastián. Member schools from Bremen, Hamburg, Kóln, Frankfurt, München, Madrid, Granada and Barcelona joined the meeting. Our member school TANDEM San Sebastián organized the meeting and offered us an amazing cultural programme during the weekend.
TANDEM Language Schools is an association of independent, non-profit German and Spanish language schools in Germany, Spain and Chile. Alongside lively, highly professional language lessons, all the schools offer their course participants a wealth of opportunities for intercultural encounters, personal contacts and experiencing a new culture. For us, learning languages and getting to know foreign cultures are inseparable.
Each member school cultivates its own learning environment, shaped by the local region. At the same time, all schools meet their jointly defined, verifiable quality standards. As independent organisations, the schools can react flexibly to the wishes and needs of participants. By using modern language teaching methods, all schools create a strong basis to build contact, interaction and understanding between people from different cultures.
