Cante flamenco is an oral tradition for which there is no written music. The lyrics are widely available and distributed amongst flamenco artists. The style is performed as a solo with guitar accompaniment (and even sometimes without guitar - a palo seco), and as accompaniment for dancers.

We are proud to collaborate with the cantaora Nieves Molina in order to offer our new cante flamenco (singing) workshop.

This private course is a fun and interactive workshop where you will get a taste of how to sing in the flamenco style and learn a letra or two (verse) of each flamenco style. Some time will be spent in examining the structure of certain flamenco dances and how the flamenco singer and dancer interact to create a flamenco performance. This workshop will be useful and fun for both students of dance and song! No singing or dance experience is necessary though some experience of flamenco is helpful.

The Día de la Cruz (Festival of the May Crosses) is celebrated in Granada on May 3rd and is one of the most popular festivals in Andalusia.
Adults and children walk around the city visiting various crosses, dancing and celebrating this way such an important day in Granada. You should visit the Albaicín, where crosses every year get the best prizes. The cross at the Corrala de Santiago, in Realejo is also a winner for the patios section of the competition.

My Spanish course includes 2 classes of grammar and 2 conversation classes per day. I started from the very beginning and improved my Spanish very quickly thanks to a professionalism of the teachers and very well selected groups. In fact, I was able to communicate with other students with the same level of Spanish, which helped us to learn Spanish more efficiently with a help of a teacher and have fun as well.

The staff of the Spanish school was extremely friendly and helpful, especially Paco. In the first day they helped me with my accommodation, informed me about different possibilities and important places in the city, and helped me to get my debit card in a bank, which was incredibly important as well. The accommodation was provided by the school. In the apartment I lived with 4 Spanish persons, who helped me to boost my Spanish and experience Spanish culture and traditions. They were very friendly, kind and open-minded.

On the one hand, teachers were very professional and provided well-structured content. On another hand, they were very funny making a lot of jokes. Thus, they delivered a great combination of serious and funny content, which helped us to feel comfortable and learn Spanish in a great atmosphere.

Another important part of learning Spanish language and culture took place outside of our classes. The school organized different social and cultural activities in the evenings and on weekends. In the first week we went to the Arabic bath, which helped me to relieve stress from the first days of my adaptation to a new country. Moreover, I discovered an incredible art-form, which was born in Granada and called Flamenco. The flamenco show included very emotional and expressional music and dance. I fell in love with it and would love to experience it again. Another incredible activity was a tapa tour with the teacher Marisa, when almost all the students went out together to explore the tapas culture in different local bars. There is a tradition in Granada to give tapas for free when you order a drink.

I would definitely recommend this school to everybody, who wants to learn Spanish and discover a great culture of the beautiful Granada and Spain in general.

The city of Granada; hosts a new edition of the Tango Festival from 14 to 19 of March 2017, dedicated to this style of dance which is widely practised all over the world. There has been an explosion of tango enthusiasts and professional dancers in recent years, going to show that tango is, essentially, a manifestation of contemporary urban culture. This event aims to fill the whole city with rhythm and passion, with over fifty artists and some fifteen shows, as well as parallel activities that go from dance classes and night time parties, through to street performances and meetings between artists and enthusiasts.
